PRAISE

"Byron Ricks shares a very personal story in a very strong manner. You will receive several gifts for completing this book: the gift of filling the void in your heart; the gift of accepting your situation and moving forward; and the gift of healing."
Bryan Flanagan, Director of Corporate Training, Zig Ziglar Corporation

"In Searching for Dad the reader is given a look inside the impact of a fatherless home from the eyes of a boy. Byron Ricks' heart felt story of growing up without the guidance of a dad gives young men or adult men the insight on living a successful life beyond adversity. His nine side effects of growing up fatherless is a powerful beginning to awareness and understanding; of how to turn adversity into healing steps. The book reinforces the spiritual principle that the personal power within each of us, is greater then the outside forces and power which can influnce life, it not checked."
Mildred Saunders, President, Namaskar LLC, New York, NY

"As a professional that grew up without a dad in the home, I was able to directly relate to the life lessons Byron provides in Searching for Dad. Byron's transparency has not only put words to the emotions that I have personally felt, but he also provided some very insightful advice relative to overcoming the issues of your past. This book is a must-read for anyone seeking to understand men that grew up without fathers or the boys they left behind. Thanks Byron!"
Cedric Alford, Sachse, TX.

"These words have been on my mind since I read ( in one and a half sittings ) Searching for DAD. The story of your life grabbed me like a big HUG. To think you know someone but you realize you only know what we allow each other to see. I always knew you were a GIFTED storyteller, this just shows me how GIFTED you are. I truly admire you exposing parts of your life for the public, that's BIG. The book explained things about my sons that I just couldn't put my finger on. My prayer for them is that they continue to walk in the BLESSINGS of GOD, <my son> just decided to try and do it his way for a minute. I can identify them in book easily. I think it is VERY WELL written, very articulate, and very enjoyable. I am so PROUD of you and for you. May GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOU IN ABUNDANCE"
JAN

"It was a pleasure to have you on the show. I really think the information, message and lessons you discussed will be helpful to listeners. I enjoyed the interview too! Such good information. I also enjoyed reading your book."
Dr. Terri Orbuch

"I was so excited to read your book, I finished it in one sitting (Monday night). It is provocative, inspiring and personally resonates with me on a number of levels."
Cheryl Pegram

"I finished the book, and I must say, as your cousin, I am extremely proud of you!! Proud in the sense that you were able the capture the emotions that we as men who grew of fatherless all share, and the fact that you did it in such a heartfelt and spiritual way, using your own life. I can identity with every aspect of the book (of course I didn't have a pet monkey, funny though, I was called monkey in school), but the anger, resentment, emotional struggles, the whole nine!! It's amazing how we both felt the same way about certain things in our childhoods, my Dad always lived well, and I often got angry when my Mom barely had enough, and he was driving cadillacs, living in a nice house. But the thing is, every young boy yearns for a father, reading how you gave your Dad chance after chance, reminded me so much of me. Fortunately for me, my father and I have a good relationship now, didn't happen till I was about 18 years old, but praise God, it happened. Like you, I had to forgive him, and stopped blaming him; also like you, I had to ask him some hard questions, and he gave me some hard answers, but they were the answers I needed. All in All, I really enjoyed your book, in so many respects, it helps to know that people in the same situations, went through the same things, and yet, we were still able to succeed, because God gave us people to help us, and above all, he gave us great mothers to push us. I don't know if you will make Oprah's Book Club, but I give you two thumbs up Cuz!!! "
